In this section, you can find out what I like to do and how we might have fun together.
You can also see my creative side and actually meet me online (well, virtually anyway).
My interests have been neglected a little over the past couple of years as I've worked
on getting a new company going. It'll be up to you to drag me away and help me
rediscover the wide world of recreation. Don't worry, it won't be hard to convince me
to go out.

There are only a few major topics covered by separate pages, seen on the left navigation
bar. <a href="theArts.html" target="_parent">The Arts</a> page is divided into pages
covering my favorite TV, movies, and music. <a href="theTravel.html" target="_parent">The Travel</a>
page is divided into separate pages devoted to a certain interesting place in the world
I've been, and there are quite a few photographs to see (oops--not many original ones).
The most original <a href="topPhotos.html" target="_parent">photos</a> here are
<a href="theRickPhotos.html" target="_parent">those of me</a> and
<a href="theVanPhotos.html" target="_parent">my van</a>. Finally, don't forget to have
a look at <a href="topPoems.html" target="_parent">the poems</a>, especially
my favorite, <a href="theSuccess.html" target="_parent"><i>Success</i></a> by Ralph Waldo Emerson
and an original love poem I wrote for someone I used to date,

condition that I have.

There are other interests I have that don't quite deserve their own pages.
(At least, I don't want to take up any more space or make you read any more!)
<ul>
<li type="disc">I like to try new restaurants, especially seafood and ethnic places, or out-of-the-way
little finds. It's best when the atmosphere or view is extra good, but the food is
what matters.</li>
<li type="disc">I absolutely love to go to concerts. There's almost nothing
better than going into a venue and sitting down, waiting for the music to start.
I like all kinds of music, but perhaps the late 60s, early 70s bands are my favorite.
Sometimes it's hard to tell what decade we're living in. I also like classical and
folk music. And don't forget almost any live music event in a club or even a street fair...</li>
<li type="disc">Wine tasting is also fun. I'm not an expert, but I can appreciate a nice
vintage when I find one. New unusual beers from around the world are also fun to find.</li>
<li type="disc">I didn't mention going to plays along with movies and concerts only because I don't go
to many, but I like them very much for their immediacy and intimacy.</li>
<li type="disc">I also go to comedy clubs once in a while. I remember one time at the Improv
in PB when Dennis Wolfberg was there. He asked if anyone in the audience had taken Organic
Chemistry in college, which of course I had. I raised my hand. He asked what my grade was,
hoping I'd say I failed. I said, "An A." Then he asked me what I did for a living,
to which I answered, "I make software." "Oh, that means you make condoms?" he
asked. "No," I answered, "That would be hardware." Anyway, my favorite
stand-up comic is Steven Wright, who played Warren on <i>Mad About You</i> for a while.
"I bought a box of instant water, but I didn't know what to add." Ask me for more
unforgetable quotes.
